There is a simple way of boosting your list size in a short time by participating in events called giveaways. If you are building a list, then you probably already have a squeeze page. That's a page with your sign up form.

1) What is a giveaway event?

A giveaway event is a place where people that are building lists and people interested in free products connect. People looking for free products can browse through a list of products and they can get those products for free in exchange for subscribing to the list of a product contributor. You will be interested to become a contributor, so people will subscribe to your list.

2) How can I contribute to a giveaway event?

If you have a squeeze page that you use for signing subscribers to your list, then you maybe already offer something as an incentive for people to sign up. This could be some e-book, report, software, graphics package or something else. It doesn't really matter as long you have the license to give it away. And to become a contributor to a giveaway event, you don't have to give your own product. Any products with the right to give away will do. Many people hesitate to become a contributor to a giveaway event, because they don't have their own products. I was the same. But once I joined, I saw that most people don't offer their own products. After you have a squeeze page and a product to give away, you are set to go. You can join a giveaway event and there you will find a form where you need to enter your squeeze page URL with some other data. It's easy to set up your gift. And even if you don't contribute anything, you might find some good products yourself and get them for free.

3) Do giveaway events work?

Yes they do. I was surprised by how many subscribers I got from my first giveaway event. My gift wasn't ranked too highly between all the products that were offered and still it worked. So, at least you should join to see how everything works.
